Everything is Quiet

have you ever held something so tight to your chest that it could burst?
exploding like glitter,
freckling the air in places your breath can't quite touch
golden sunlight showering through the window
the mix of glitter and dust projecting constellations in the air,
on the walls
breathe it all in,
everything is quiet

or have you held something so close that it could just melt through your
rib cage?
burning like a secret-
zipped, tight lipped
the space it fills inside you makes your skin prickle and your insides
squirm a little-
burns and burns until there is nothing left to hurt
like the feeling under the sheets during the loneliest part of the night,
everything is quiet
